Cosmetic Labelling Regulations
Products must adhere to cosmetic labelling regulations i.e. Food and Drugs Act and Cosmetic Regulations in Canada and FD&C Act and FP&L Act in USA.
Product Location Inspection
Regulatory authorities inspect locations where cosmetics are manufactured or stored, and any advertising or labelling material related to a product.
Safety Assessment
Product safety assessment is encoded in legal or regulatory responsibilities. Manufacturers, importers, distributors or others must conduct a Safety Assessment of their products to ensure only safe products reach consumers.
Warning Letter
Health Canada and FDA can issue a warning letter and take legal action against a cosmetic product on the market if they find information showing that the product is adulterated or misbranded.
Mandatory Information
Information that must appear on the label of a pre-packaged cosmetic include product identification in English (and French in Canada), product's net quantity declaration in metric units, and identity and location of business of the dealer.
